• Whistler Art Workshops on the Lake, 2012,

Intermediate to Advanced Watercolour Inspired by the West Coast Landscape

July 4-6, 2012 – 9am – 4pm , Station House, Alta lake, Whistler , BC.

We will explore essential watercolour techniques and perception exercises that will enable participants the ability to paint directly from nature and also help learn to interpret and transcend their photo reference during studio exercises.  Watercolour’s magical flowing spontaneity and ethereal softness as well as its ability to make crisp, highly defined form will be practiced. Studio lesson themes will include, painting the west coast rainforest, rocks and moving water, as well as a lesson on snow. Weather permitting we also hope to do some exercises working directly from nature from our lakeside deck to capture the morning light.

We will explore essential watercolour techniques and perception exercises that will enable participants the ability to paint directly from nature. This workshop is studio based and will involve several sustained paintings.
